ECEA Testimony In Support of the Department of Early Childhood - June 1, 2022
Why Creating a Department of Early Childhood Makes Sense for Families, Businesses and Government
OVERVIEW FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE CHILD CARE INDUSTRY AND THE FAMILIES WE SERVE AND THE PEOPLE WE EMPLOY.
Why create a new department? Why isn’t the current model sufficient? What are the problems with the current model? What are the benefits if we do make this change? This is what I am trying to address with the PowerPoint.I want to show that:
- A single point of entry (slide one) will make navigating the system easier for parents/guardians.
- A single point of entry (slide two) will make navigating the system easier for providers.
- Having everything under “one roof” will eliminate redundancy.
- Use Funding more efficiently.
- AddressChildCareDeserts.
